How to use geoidal height for trajectories export with Qinertia within CloudStation ?

This page is to explain how to use a geoid model for exporting your trajectory, and therefore your point cloud, for SBG Systems-based units.

For Qinertia OEM, running in the background of the CloudStation trajectory porcessing module, a geoid is never used by itself : a geoid is always paired with a Coordinate Reference System (CRS).

By default, this pairing isn't done in Qinertia. But YellowScan provides a user-defined "master" file that includes the most usual CRS+Geoid association. It is already included inside the Qinertia OEM install.

If you downloaded your Qinertia OEM version before October 2024, then you can retrieve the master config file here : crs.json

(password : yellowscan)

Download and overwrite the one located in your Qinertia OEM install folder :

CS_Qinertia_pathWARNING ! There's no default path, it can be installed in a different location !

Go to your install folder , /data/geodesy/defs/sbg/ and overwrite the crs.json file there.

In order to use orthometric height, in CloudStation SBET Generation module / Export Parameters / Height options , choose Orthometric :

Then, in Geodesy, choose one of the user-defined association that fits your needs :

Please note that only Geographic 2D coordinates systems had been associated, because that's the only CRS needed. Even if you use projected coordinates, only the Geographic 2D CRS will actually be used by CloudStation in next steps !

The will apply the geoidal undulation to your sbet trajectory, which will then be applied to the final point cloud.

The projection can be done using the export of the point stage, as usual :
