How to recover .sbg (raw IMU data) directly from the internal memory?

Mishandling/malfunction during field operation can lead to the .sbg file being absent from the USB flash drive. It needs to be recovered from the IMU internal memory (SBG Quanta board). To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Download and install any FTP software (like WinSCP,  Filezilla)
  2. Connect to the SBG IMU board
  3. Open your FTP software.
  4. On "Host" (upper left), write down 192.168.9.252 and click on "Quickconnect".

  5. On "Remote site" (right panel), click on "dataLogger"Capture décran 2024-02-09 151826
  6. On the right panel, double click on the corresponding mission folder you're missing a .sbg file. Capture décran 2024-02-09 153310
  7. Simply drag and drop all the files needed from the right panel to the left. Make sure you are in the folder of your mission flight in the left panel.
You need at least a .000 and a .json file. If there is a .001 file (and eventually, a .002), it means your flight was split into 2 files.
  8. Once done, close your FTP solution.
  • If you only have a .000 file, then in your mission flight folder, rename the .000 into .sbg with the right naming of the flight as the .ys.
  • If you have several files, then they need to be concatenated into a single file.
    You can use file-joiner : https://www.igorware.com/file-joiner/download

    File joiner
  • Then rename the file obtained : file name must be identical to the .ys file and extension must be changed to .sbg. The new .sbg must be placed with the other files (.ys and scanner), as shown in the example :
